Hey everyone, it's that time again. I'm busy making some major changes to the website. Many new ideas are rushing through my head so keep checking back for more updates.

I'm living in Pittsburgh now and ready to start work on The Cocktail Chef Chronicles: the diary of a sober mixologist. Should be interesting to say the least. It's an up close and intense look into the mind of a recovering alcoholic.

Thank you for your support and keep mixing responsibly!

Spiced Rum Carrot Cake Martini

Here it is everyone!! Get your mixing glass and start to pour::

2oz. Captain Morgan 100

3/4oz. Ginger Spice Liqueur

3/4oz. Fresh Carrot Juice

3/4oz. Pecan Orgeat (Orgeat can be found in specialty liquor shoppes)

Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass

Top with magic cream, a pinch of fresh carrot slivers & serve!

--------

Magic cream

Magic Cream Ingredients:

1 cup Heavy whipping cream

1 1/4 shot of Frangelico Hazelnut liquor

1 tablespoons of sugar

Mix together in a chilled mixing tin. Cap the tin with your mixing glass and shake hard  till the mixture is thick yet still pourable. Once you've achieved the desired thickness, you can pour it onto your martini. Pour slowly and shake it often to keep it thick. Start on one side and let the mixture slowly move across the top of the cocktail till it reaches the other side.

Please enjoy responsibily and have a safe holiday season!

The Grand Marnier Mixology Showdown is on November 1st

The word around Atlanta is that you’re a great mixologist & one of the best.

This is your chance to prove it. 18 mixologists enter the showdown… and only 1 will walk away with the trophy.  This is unlike any other competition. You will have no time to prepare a cocktail entry… you will be expected to create a cocktail on the spot. Secret ingredients, 10 minutes to work, & everyone watching to see what you will make. Every cocktail must incorporate GRAND MARNIER or NAVAN.

I have selected some of Atlanta’s top mixologists to prove once and for all… who the best really is.

18 mixologists, 3 rounds, 1 champion left standing after smoke clears. The winner will receive a huge handcrafted trophy to be taken back to your restaurant, nightclub, or bar. You will be the champion for 1 year… then you must return with the trophy to defend your title at the next showdown.

 Details are as follows:

THE SHOWDOWN:

18 Top mixologists will converge on ROOM at TWELVE in Atlanta on November 1st for a day-long event.

A Grand Marnier Culinary/Cocktail Pairing Workshop followed by THE GRAND MARNIER MIXOLOGY SHOWDOWN to determine who is truly a mixology bad-ass.

So… you think you think you can smoke the rest? It’s time to put you to the test.

Let's see what you got. No time to prepare... You got 10 minutes... MIX!!

18 will enter the showdown & only one will be left standing.

3 Rounds… 17 eliminations...

The SHOWDOWN CHAMPION takes home the handcrafted Trophy for 1year and will return the following year to defend his or her title.
